Anyone obsessed with television’s “Dancing with the Stars” had an opportunity to see Las Cruces’ own celebrities dance off with the first ever Look Who’s Dancing, hosted by the Big Band Dance Club and Dance Universe, Inc. The fundraiser benefited New Mexico State University’s DanceSport Company.

The fundraiser was originally slated for the Rio Grande Theatre, but it soon became evident to organizers that the venue was too small, so the dancers performed at the NMSU Pan American Center on February 27. Selected community members were paired with DanceSport students.

First place winners were District Attorney Susana Martinez and student John Giusto, second place went to 101 Gold radio personality KC Counts and student Joseph Wellhouse and third place was awarded to former Mayor Ruben Smith and student Naomi McKenna.
