| SPACEPORT AMERICA |
 |
Spaceport America continues to move forward as anticipated with the groundbreaking and paved road from Engle complete. A contract was awarded to David Montoya Construction to build the 10,000-foot runway and another was awarded to FNF New Mexico for site enabling. Construction services are being procured for the electrical power tie-in, terminal/hanger building and for a fire and maintenance facility. With operating permits in place, vertical launches have been initiated and horizontal launches are planned for late 2010. Three launch pads are complete in preparation for NASA’s 2009 Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Centennial Challenge.
The 18,000-acre spaceport is located approximately 45 miles north of Las Cruces and 30 miles southeast of Truth or Consequences and will offer commercial space flight capabilities.
