Mental health refers to the wellness and behavior of the mind. A mental health professional has many levels that very from education and field. All mental health professionals offer services for progress or treatment of mental illness or problems. The basic can be defined as a counselor that gives out advice and guidance to individuals that are seeking help. The next step up would be a psychiatrist. They usually have a degree in psychology, but not a doctorate, which would be a psychologist. Both of these professions work with people who are suffering from a mental problem or disability. Although, a psychiatrist is a trained professional, only psychologists are allowed to diagnose and prescribe medicines for mental illnesses.
